Valencia have announced Cesare Prandelli as their new manager on a two-year deal.
Los Che have been looking for a new manager after sacking Pako Ayestaran at the end of last month and were reportedly pursing former Villarreal manager Marcelino.
However, La Liga rules prevented Valencia from firming up their interest with an official offer and they have now appointed Prandelli, who will watch Sunday’s match against Atletico Madrid from the stands before taking full control on Monday.
The 59-year-old hasn’t managed since being dismissed as Galatasaray manager in November 2014 where he finished his 143-day tenure having lost half of his 16 matches in charge.
