Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has revealed it would be hard to turn down an approach from Barcelona.
Eriksen enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career as Tottenham finished second in the Premier League before former manager Frank de Boer linked the Denmark international with a high profile move to the Camp Nou.
There have been no official links between Barcelona and Eriksen since the Tottenham ace had an unsuccessful trial at the Spanish giants when he was a youngster but the 25-year-old insists it would be difficult for any player to turn down Ernesto Valverde’s side.
“I’ve been there [on trial as a teenager] at one point, and it didn’t work out too well,” he told Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet. “But Barcelona is a fantastic club - I don’t think there are a lot of players who would say no to Barcelona.
“But there is ‘interest’ and then there is a concrete interest. Until there is some concrete interest, I don’t have an opinion about it.”
Eriksen started last season slowly but was immense after resolving the issues regarding his contract and finished the campaign playing a direct hand in 23 goals in 36 league appearances for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
In fact, only Emil Forsberg (19) and Kevin De Bruyne (18) provided more assists than the Tottenham ace in Europe’s top five leagues last season (15).
