Saint-Etienne played out a 3-0 win over their penultimate game of the season as they secured a routine victory over Nice. It could have been a more nervy affair for Les Verts had Stephane Ruffier not been on top of his game, with the Frenchman returning a WhoScored rating of 8.35. He made five saves in a clean sheet attaining performance as the hosts earned all three points.
Right-back: Hiroki Sakai (Marseille) - 8.94 rating
Marseille can yet finish above Montpellier in Ligue 1 this season with a 5-2 win at Toulouse ensuring their quest to finish fifth will go to the wire. Right-back Hiroki Sakai put in a solid shift from the back as he scored one and assisted another from one shot and four key passes, respectively. Four interceptions, three clearances and two tackles saw the Japanese defender return a WhoScored of 8.94.
Centre-back: Kamil Glik (Monaco) - 8.70 rating
A 2-0 win over Amiens all-but ensured Monaco will be playing Ligue 1 football next season after a thoroughly underwhelming campaign. Kamil Glik was solid at the heart of the defence in their routine home victory as he gained a WhoScored rating of 8.70. 11 aerial duels, 18 clearances and four interceptions capped arguably his best performance of the campaign.
Centre-back: Gabriel (Lille) - 8.09 rating
Continuing the Ligue 1 theme, Lille ended the season as the form team in Europe after their 5-0 win over Angers. The second best team in France are the only side with more than one representative on the back of the resounding victory, with Gabriel partnering Glik at the back. The 21-year-old won two aerial duels in the win, while seven clearances, four tackles and two interceptions saw him gain a WhoScored rating of 8.09.
Left-back: David Alaba (Bayern Munich) - 8.24 rating
Bayern Munich secured the Bundesliga title in style as they romped to a 5-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Austria star David Alaba had a direct hand in two of the five goals, scoring from one of three shots and assisting from one of two key passes. An additional two tackles saw Alaba land a WhoScored rating of 8.24.
Right midfield: Nicolas Pepe (Lille) - 9.31 rating
Earning his 13th WhoScored man of the match award at the weekend as he came away with a WhoScored rating of 9.31, Nicolas Pepe is the second Lille player to feature in this XI. The in-demand Ivorian hit the back of the net with two of his five shots, while four successful dribbles and one key passes capped a fine performance from Pepe.
Central midfield: Memphis Depay (Lyon) - 9.00 rating
Lyon wrapped up a top three finish with a comfortable 4-0 win over Caen at the weekend. Memphis Depay was on hand to bag a brace to take his league total for the season to 10. The Dutchman’s two goals came from three shots, while two key passes and two tackles helped yield a WhoScored rating of 9.00.

Udinese gave their survival hopes a much-needed boost with a 3-2 win over SPAL at the weekend with Rodrigo De Paul helping himself to a hat-trick of assists in the victory. The Argentine’s three assists came from six key passes as three tackles, three interceptions and two successful dribbles contributed to a fine WhoScored rating of 9.32.

Fabian Ruiz has had a direct hand in eight league goals in Serie A this season, three of which came in a man of the match display in Napoli’s 4-1 win over Inter on Sunday. The 23-year-old scored two from two shots, while one of his four key passes returned an assist. Off the ball, Ruiz impressed as he made five tackles and one interception to gain a WhoScored rating of 9.66.
Striker: Nils Petersen (Freiburg) - 9.57 rating
Freiburg ended a miserable season on a high as they romped to a 5-1 win over Nuernberg. Nils Petersen enjoyed perhaps his best performance of the campaign in a man of the match display as the forward gained a WhoScored rating of 9.57. Indeed, Petersen scored two from four shots and registered one assist from one key pass to round off the season.

Our European player of the week and deservedly so. Wolfsburg confirmed their European spot on the final day of the Bundesliga season on Saturday as they trounced Augsburg 8-1 to leapfrog Eintracht Frankfurt into a Europa League spot. Wout Weghorst had a direct hand in four of the eight goals, rattling in a hat-trick from five shots and providing one assist from one key pass as the Dutchman put in his second perfect 10 performance of the campaign.
