Player Ratings: Croatia 1-1 Denmark - Keepers steal show in shooutout
WhoScored.com walk through the individual player ratings as Croatia progressed past Denmark in a penalty shootout, with Kasper Schmeichel shining once more in goal.
CROATIA - 6.87
Danijel Subasic - 7.27 - Atoned for some woeful goalkeeping in the first minute with three saves in the shootout to see Denmark through.
Sime Vrsaljko - 6.33 - Industrious without actually doing a great deal at either end, with a single tackle, interception, dribble or key pass.
Dejan Lovren - 6.42 - Wasn’t really tested in truth and missed a chance from a set piece in an otherwise subdued display.
Domagoj Vida - 7.54 - By far the busier of the two centre-backs, produced three interceptions, 12 clearances and won five aerial duels.
Ivan Strinic - 6.68 - Very involved before being taken off after 80 minutes, producing four tackles, but was wasteful in possession.
Marcelo Brozovic - 6.34 - Lack of defensive discipline began to show as the game wore on and became overrun in midfield ahead of replacement on 70 minutes.
Ante Rebic - 7.89 - Croatia’s liveliest player on the night, full of running and defensive work rate, mustering three shots, three dribbles and three tackles.
Luka Modric - 7.71 - Heavily involved as one would expect, creating five chances, but missed from the spot in extra time only to redeem himself in the shootout.
Ivan Rakitic - 7.77 - With three shots, two key passes, two dribbles, two tackles and seven accurate long balls, the Barca man was at the heart of the action as ever.
Ivan Perisic - 6.20 - After a bright start he was completely anonymous, completing just 11 passes in 96 minutes and failing to hit the target with six attempts at goal.
Mario Mandzukic - 7.64 - A handful early on, the forward grew more and more isolated as the game progressed but took his goal well.
Subs: Mateo Kovacic (6.91), Josip Pivaric (6.03), Andrej Kramaric (6.68), Milan Badelj (5.67)
DENMARK - 6.73
Kasper Schmeichel - 8.47 (Man of the Match) - The most unfortunate player on the field to crash out, Schmeichel saved a last gasp penalty - one of five stops - and a further two in the subsequent shootout in a man of the match display.

Henrik Dalsgaard - 7.32 - After a tough start to the game the right-back got to grips with Perisic and nullified his threat, winning four aerial duels and seven clearances.
Zanka - 6.90 - Scrambled home a first minute opener but struggled at the back, committing three fouls and picking up a late booking.
Simon Kjaer - 6.94 - More assured than his defensive partner, the captain led by example from the back without being stretched and his distribution was impressive at times.
Jonas Knudsen - 6.42 - His long throw led to the early opener but failed to utilise it effectively thereafter and offered little else to the game.
Yussuf Poulsen - 7.69 - Looked like Denmark’s most dangerous player in the final third, despite not mustering a shot. Completed three dribbles and won nine aerial duels.
Andreas Christensen - 6.36 - Sacrificed at half time with Croatia controlling the game, he did little wrong but a tactical shift led to an improvement from the Danes.
Thomas Delaney - 7.85 - Got through a huge amount of work in combating the threat of Modric and Rakitic, breaking up play with four tackles and four fouls.
Martin Braithwaite - 6.01 - After a decent start the forward was ineffective and uninvolved, completing 13 passes in 105 minutes.
Christian Eriksen - 6.35 - A largely subdue display from the Spurs man, who tried to force the issue at times and failed to create anything from open play.
Andreas Cornelius - 6.23 - A strong presence to contend with but didn’t get into any dangerous positions, with just one touch in the opposition box.
Subs: Lasse Schone (6.17), Nicolai Jorgensen (5.96), Michael Krohn-Dehli (6.49), Pione Sisto (5.96)
