After running through the top five highest market risers earlier this week, here we deliver our buy tips ahead of the weekend
Anthony Martial - Manchester United (Buy)
Having missed out on France’s World Cup squad, Anthony Martial is widely expected to leave Manchester United this summer in pursuit of further game time. The forward struggled to nail down a regular starting spot under Jose Mourinho, yet still mustered nine goals and five assists in the Premier League this season, meaning he had a direct hand in a United goal every 113.1 minutes.
He’ll have no shortage of potential suitors either, with Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal all interested in the 22-year-old. Mourinho is prepared to let Martial depart for pastures new this summer and while he has a costly buy price of £3.14 per share on Football INDEX, any media buzz over his future will see that rise, as will an expected increase in playing time next season.
Mario Balotelli - Nice (Buy)
Mario Balotelli enjoyed his most prolific league campaign to date as he bagged 18 league goals for Nice in Ligue 1. However, the Italian is unlikely to remain in the south of France beyond the summer with his contract up at the end of June. His good form has prompted not only a return to the Italy national team under Roberto Mancini, but also a flurry of interest in his signature.
A host of Serie A sides have been credited with an interest in Balotelli, including Napoli under the watchful eye of new head coach Carlo Ancelotti, while Bundesliga and Premier League teams have been courting the 27-year-old. With a buy price of just £1.49 per share on Football INDEX, he isn’t one to pass up.
Cristian Pavon - Boca Juniors (Buy)
Having made Jorge Sampaoli’s 23-man World Cup squad on the back of a title winning campaign with Boca Juniors, youngster Cristian Pavon has the foundation to take the world by storm. He registered more assists (11) than any other player in the 2017/18 Superliga season and has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Were he to excel in Russia next month, interest in Pavon’s signature would likely increase significantly. There is ample competition for starting spots in Argentina’s attack this summer, yet Pavon has the requisite tools to succeed for the South American powerhouse when called upon. A buy price of £1.75 per share on Football INDEX means the 22-year-old could be a handy money maker in your portfolio in the long run.
Anderson Talisca - Benfica (Buy)
The end of the Super Lig season signalled the culmination of Anderson Talisca’s two-year loan spell with former champions Besiktas. The Brazilian enjoyed two hugely impressive years in Istanbul, though Besiktas are unlikely to have the funds required to sign the 24-year-old permanently. As one might expect, interest in the attacker’s signature is high as teams look to strengthen.
Talisca scored 27 goals and registered a further nine assists during his 24 months in Turkey and as a result, teams across the continent are gearing up for a bidding war this summer. Previously linked with Manchester United, Tottenham have also been credited with an interest, while the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has been influential in Wolves’ Premier League return, with a host of his clients now plying their trade for the Midlands side. If reports are to be believed, then Talisca could be the next to join Wolves and with a buy price of £1.91 per share on Football INDEX, he’s one to look into.
Toby Alderweireld - Tottenham (Buy)
It could be that Toby Alderwerield and Anthony Martial swap sides this summer, with the defender heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. The Belgian defender has just one year left to run on his current deal in north London, though Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is supposedly holding out for bids of around £75m for Alderweireld.
Either way, it’s a saga that could rumble on beyond the World Cup, with United confident a deal can be struck that will see Alderweireld move to Old Trafford. The 29-year-old’s buy price is currently £2.20 per share on Football INDEX, but as the gossip columns begin to take centre stage, that’s likely to rise over the coming weeks. Get on Alderweireld now to avoid disappointment.
