Team Form Rankings: Real Madrid on top as Juventus and Bayern crash out

The lead in our team form rankings across Europe’s top five leagues has changed hands once more, while there are two big casualties from the top ten in the form of Juventus - who could only draw with lowly SPAL - and Bayern, who suffered a first league defeat in 14 at the hands of Naby Keita and co. at RB Leipzig.

The updated top ten is as follows…

10. Rennes (7.03) / Rating Change +.07

The biggest climbers onto the leaderboard at the expense of the aforementioned European giants, Rennes are now unbeaten in six and picked up a fourth win in that time with an impressive 2-0 victory at Bordeaux. It was a third clean sheet in their last four Ligue 1 matches.

9. Monaco (7.05) / Rating Change 0

While their league rating over the last six matches may not have changed, Monaco climb two places and back into the top ten as a result with a fifth league win in six over Lille. Leonardo Jardim’s side have dropped just two of a possible 18 points in that time and are now all but assured the automatic Champions League qualification spot behind PSG in France.

8. Atletico Madrid (7.05) / Rating Change -.10

The biggest fallers on the leaderboard, both in terms of ranking and rating, Atletico’s defeat at Villarreal on Sunday has all but put an end to their feint title hopes, having lost to league leaders Barcelona earlier this month.

7. Tottenham (7.07) / Rating Change n/a

In action in the FA Cup at the weekend, reaching the semi-finals with a convincing win over Swansea, Spurs’ league rating is unchanged over the last six games, and as such they keep their place in the top ten.

6. Liverpool (7.11) / Rating Change +0.5

Bouncing back from defeat at Old Trafford in some style, Liverpool hit five past Watford, with that man Mo Salah in deadly form, scoring four goals from just four shots. The Reds have now netted 16 goals in their last six league games.

5. Barcelona (7.15) / Rating Change +.07

Another comfortable win for Barcelona at the weekend has seen the blaugrana climb three places having recovered from their recent draw with Las Palmas. Ernesto Valverde’s side have conceded just twice over their last six league games.

4. Roma (7.20) / Rating Change +.04

Well and truly back on form, Champions League quarter-finalists Roma earned a third successive league win at the weekend and fifth victory in their last six Serie A outings against Crotone, scoring 16 times over that spell.

3. Manchester City (7.22) / Rating Change n/a

Without a game due to Brighton’s FA Cup clash with their local rivals Manchester United, City stay put in third with an unchanged rating.

2. Paris Saint Germain (7.27) / Rating Change -.03

While the runaway Ligue 1 leaders did earn a ninth consecutive league win for the first time in two years at the weekend, they did suffer a scare at Nice. Coming from a goal down early in the first half, it took an 82nd minute Dani Alves winner to claim all three points.

1. Real Madrid (7.28) / Rating Change +.03

Zinedine Zidane’s men earned their fifth win in their last six league outings with a six-goal showing against Girona on Sunday courtesy of a four-goal haul from Cristiano Ronaldo, and have now scored 18 goals across said matches.
