Here, we are going to run through our five players to invest in ahead of the weekend’s action that will help you win money over the coming days and beyond. With the Premier League teams tied up by the FA Cup, we’ve cast our net across Europe and come back with a quintet of players to sink your teeth into…

GONZALO HIGAUIN – JUVENTUS (BUY)

Considering Gonzalo Higuain’s recent goalscoring exploits, a buy price of £1.59 per share on Football INDEX is criminally low. A brace on Tuesday night saw a huge hike in his buy price, peaking at £1.78, but that has since leveled out. The Argentine has now scored an impressive eight goals in his last five competitive appearances and with the Turin Derby looming, he’s one to back.

Max Allegri may have one eye on the upcoming second leg Champions League with Tottenham, but he’ll hope to keep pace with Napoli in Serie A, while Higuain has scored seven goals in nine league meetings with Torino. A brace in this fixture last season helped Juventus to a 3-1 win and you’d expect similar this time out. While you may only see marginal gains, it may be worth snapping up shares in the forward in bulk to see a return on your investment.

BREEL EMBOLO – SCHALKE (BUY)

Breel Embolo has been terribly unlucky with injuries this season and it’s seen him make just three league starts thus far. However, now looking to get back to form in time for the World Cup, the Schalke youngster could be worth a look in as he aims to prove his fitness in time for Russia 2018.

Schalke’s top-four pursuit was waned in recent weeks, but they’ll be confident of returning to winning ways against an out of sorts Hoffenheim this weekend. Only Freiburg (30) and Mainz 05 (24) have conceded more away goals than Hoffenheim (22) in the Bundesliga this term and it provides Embolo with the ideal chance to add to his one goal. With a buy price of £0.73 per share on Football INDEX, the Swiss youngster is worth a look in before league action resumes following the midweek European matches.

YANN KARAMOH – INTER (BUY)

Yann Karamoh enjoyed a fine first Inter start of his career as Luciano Spalletti’s side ended their dire winless run that saw their title hopes come to an abrupt end. The French winger joined from Caen on loan last summer, yet has been forced to watch on having been restricted to four substitute appearances prior to his start against Bologna.

He repaid the faith shown in him by Spalletti with the winning goal in a man of the match display at San Siro. The 19-year-old is to be rewarded with another start as Inter gear up to face Genoa. At the moment, Karamoh’s buy price is a lowly £0.83 per share on Football INDEX and it’s certainly worth getting in on the act before that skyrockets, particularly if he enjoys another impressive second successive Serie A start.

NORDI MUKIELE – MONTPELLIER (BUY)

Montpellier’s pursuit of a European finish is built on a sturdy defence. They don’t score many, having netted just 23 goals in 25 matches, but they concede little. Indeed, only PSG (17) have conceded fewer goals than Montpellier (20) in Ligue 1 this season and they’re expected to put in another resolute showing against Guingamp this weekend.

With that in mind, a Montpellier defender is worth a look in, with youngster Nordi Mukiele boasting a buy price of just £0.73 per share on Football INDEX. The youngster has thrived in Ligue 1 this season and if you fancy playing the long game, it’s likely he’ll have his fair share of potential suitors over the summer. Mukiele was linked with a move to Manchester City earlier in the campaign, albeit tentatively, but if he can maintain his fine form, that share price will undoubtedly rise.

SANTI MINA – VALENCIA (BUY)

Valencia ended a lengthy winless run when they defeated Levante last time out, overcoming their local rivals 3-1. Against table footers Malaga, you’d expect Los Che to make it back-to-back wins to improve their chances of a top-four finish. Santi Mina opened the scoring against Levante and you’d expect him to bag his 10th league goal of the season on Saturday.

Malaga have picked up just nine points at home this term and have conceded 16 goals in 11 home matches. Mina has four goals and one assist away from home in La Liga and with a buy price of £1.08 per share on Football INDEX, the 22-year-old forward could prove a bargain investment sooner rather than later.
