Berardi leads Sassuolo quartet in Serie A team of the month
Sassuolo earned seven points from their three matches in March and scored more goals (10) than any other team. As such, it is no surprise that the Neroverdi are the dominant side in the Serie A team of the month for March. Here, we take a look at the top three best rated players from Italy's top tier.
3. Gianluca Scamacca (Sassuolo) - 7.83
Sassuolo were far and away the most exciting Serie A team in March as they scored more goals (10) than any other side. Young striker Gianluca Scamacca scored three of those, netting in all of his three appearances. A return of 10 shots was the fourth most in the division over the month, while five key passes and four tackles helped the 23-year-old to a WhoScored rating of 7.83.
Edin Dzeko rolled back the years in March as he had a direct hand in four goals in three league outings for Inter. The Bosnian returned a perfect WhoScored 10 rating at the start of March as the Nerazzurri trounced Salernitana 5-0, the 36-year-old bagging a brace in that resounding victory. Six goalscoring chances created was the 10th best in Serie A in March as he partners Scamacca on the frontline with a WhoScored rating of 7.87.
1. Domenico Berardi (Sassuolo) - 8.08
With a rating of 8.08, Domenico Berardi is the WhoScored Serie A player of the month. The Sassuolo star is the best rated player in Italy's top tier this term, and showed why as he scored four goals in March; no player netted more. Nine shots was the sixth best in Serie A, while he was unfortunate not to add an assist having ranked joint-first for key passes (12) to lead the Sassuolo quartet in the WhoScored best XI for March.
