PSG outnumber Bayern 7-4 in Champions League Team of the Semis
Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich will face off in the 2019/20 Champions League final on Sunday after both recording emphatic 3-0 wins over RB Leipzig and Lyon, respectively.
After such ruthless victories, it's no surprise our entire Champions League Team of the Round is made up of players from both finalists. PSG's victory over RB Leipzig was arguably more impressive than Bayern, who rode their luck on a a number of occasions against Lyon.
PSG have seven players in the team of the round compared to Bayern's four as a result. Angel Di Maria secured a perfect WhoScored 10 rating against Leipzig after playing a direct hand in all three of PSG's goals. The Argentina international, who is our Champions League player of the week, scored once and provided two assists.
Robert Lewandowski was the WhoScored Man of the Match from Bayern's victory after netting his 15th Champions League goal of the season but Serge Gnabry really set pulses racing with his two-goal salvo. Unfortunately, the 25-year-old misses out on a place in the XI after lining up on the same side of the pitch as Di Maria.
The outcome of Bayern's match could have been different had Lyon converted several golden opportunities. Bayern's high line left them seriously exposed at times but they know they have the insurance of Manuel Neuer in goal to get away with it. As Lyon got in behind Bayern time and time again, it's no surprise they only have Joshua Kimmich in defence in our team of the round.
Marquinhos has proved an unlikely source of goals for PSG in the last week and followed up his quarter-final strike against Atalanta with another in the last four. Neymar and Kylian Mbappe help PSG dominate the XI ahead of their first ever Champions League final.
No Muller and Gnabry in the team what a joke !
@Akil Josh Wright is embarassing. As usual.
