Tottenham dominate Twitter’s Ultimate North London Derby XI
As we gear up for the North London Derby at WhoScored.com, we were keen to see if our Twitter followers would agree with our Ultimate combined XI of Tottenham and Arsenal players using our unique statistical ratings.
So we put it to the fans to choose their best line-up from the two sides with a series of polls to decide which team is stronger in each position. The results were one-sided to say the least!
While Tottenham are favourites to win at Wembley this afternoon and exact revenge from the 2-0 defeat earlier in the season, our Twitter followers clearly think there will be no contest given Arsenal’s dismal away record this season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly Hugo Lloris got the nod in goal but with 79% of the vote, who blew Petr Cech out of the water. That, however, wasn’t the biggest landslide in Spurs’ favour, with the returning Toby Alderweireld earning 84% of the vote against Shkodran Mustafi (16%), and Heung-min Son recording a whopping 85% after five minutes of his poll against Alex Iwobi.
There were a couple of very tight contests by comparison, but it was again Tottenham that came out on top in the battle between Mouse Dembele (53%) and Aaron Ramsey (47%), and Danny Rose (55%) and Nacho Monreal (45%).
The penultimate decision. Which of these two would you rather have between the lines behind the striker? #NorthLondonDerby

Indeed, only two Arsenal players made our Twitter users XI, in the form of Hector Bellerin, who beat Kieran Trippier (64-36%) and Mesut Ozil, who wiped the floor with Dele Alli with a whopping 80% of the vote.
All in all the average Spurs player received just under 62% of the votes, with Arsenal just over 38%, but will the percentages be in the hosts favour when the two come to blurs on the hallowed turf at Wembley.
