Roma youngster one of two new qualifiers in U21 form rankings

Two new qualifiers from AC Milan and Roma feature in the WhoScored.com U21 form rankings as a Borussia Dortmund star retains top spot.

10. Marcus Rashford - Manchester United

After making the U21 form rankings for the first time last week, Marcus Rashford dropped from sixth to tenth in the leaderboard this week on the back of a disappointing display in Manchester United's 1-0 loss at Bournemouth. While the England international impressed in recent meetings with Liverpool and Norwich, his average in recent weeks has dropped to 7.20, which contributed to his fall.

9. Dejan Kulusevski - Parma

Like Rashford, Dejan Kulusevski's drop in form has seen him fall down the U21 leaderboard. The 19-year-old has now failed to have a direct hand in a goal in his last three league appearances and his WhoScored rating over his last three league outings has failed to rise above a 7.00. An average of 7.21 in his last six Serie A appearances is enough to keep him in the top 10, but another underwhelming display this weekend is likely to see him drop off the leaderboard.

8. Pervis Estupinan - Osasuna

Rising up to eighth in the rankings is Osasuna's young left-back Pervis Estupinan. The Ecuadorian has been in good form of late, with his form in October enough to make the LaLiga team of the month. With an average WhoScored rating of 7.22 in recent weeks, the defender leapfrogs Rashford and Kulusevski into eighth.

7. Theo Hernandez - AC Milan

The first of two new qualifiers in the top 10, and another left-back in the U21 form rankings, AC Milan may be disappointing this season, but Theo Hernandez has been in good form for the Serie A side. His two WhoScored man of the match awards have come in his last five league outings and star man displays against Genoa and Roma has seen him return an average of 7.23 over his last six league matches.

6. Harvey Barnes - Leicester

Leicester secured a fifth win from their last six league matches with a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday courtesy of goals from Caglar Soyuncu and Jamie Vardy, but the victory marked a below par performance from Harvey Barnes. His average rating over his last six league outings is a commendable 7.29, but that rating, and his position in the rankings, both dropped this week.

5. Nicolo Zaniolo - Roma

The second new qualifier in the list, Nicolo Zaniolo scored for the third league match running in Roma's 2-1 win over Napoli on Saturday as the Italian youngster secured the WhoScored man of the match award in the fine victory. With Zaniolo in good form, it's reflected in the 20-year-old's average (7.34) in recent weeks.

4. Tammy Abraham - Chelsea

Dropping out of the top three, Tammy Abraham may have had a direct hand in Chelsea's two goals in their 2-1 win at Watford, but the weekend's performance at Vicarage Road pushed the fine Wolves display out of the reckoning for the form guide and it means that his average from his last six Premier League appearances (7.42) is a drop from last week.

3. Trent Alexander-Arnold - Liverpool

Rising four spots into the top three, Trent Alexander-Arnold's man of the match performance in Liverpool's late 2-1 win at Aston Villa helped move the England international up from seventh. His average from his last six Premier League appearances now stands at 7.57 and that sees Alexander-Arnold podium this week.

2. Lautaro Martinez - Inter

Having fallen to fifth last week, Lautaro Martinez moved up to second despite failing to hit the back of the net in Inter's 2-1 win at Bologna. However, the performance at the weekend pushed his sub outing against Lazio out of cotention, which would explain the Argentine's rise with his weighted rating from his last six appearances now a notable 7.61.

1. Achraf Hakimi - Borussia Dortmund

Retaining his place at the top of the table for the third week running, Achraf Hakimi's weighted rating of 7.66 is better than any other U21 player and a marginal improvement on last week (7.65). An assist in Borussia Dortmund's 3-0 win over Wolfsburg helped boost his average from his last six league appearances and he'll hope to follow that up with another solid showing in the weekend's clash with fierce Bundesliga rivals Bayern Munich.

Qualifying Rules

Only ratings from each player’s last six league matches are considered, weighted chronologically, with the most recent match carrying greater importance and so on. To qualify each player must have featured in two of the last three league matches and started at least six of the last eight available.

Players aged 21 and under at the start of the season (August 9th 2019) are eligible.
