Team News

Coventry
Man Utd
  • Tatsuhiro Sakamoto and Jamie Allen miss out for Coventry at Wembley.
  • Erik ten Hag could be without as many as 12 players for this semi-final, but will hope to have Scott McTominay and Antony available for selection.
  • Willy Kambwala joins fellow centre-backs Victor Lindelof, Lisandro Martinez, Jonny Evans and Raphael Varane on the sidelines, which means Casemiro may partner Harry Maguire at the back

Prediction

  • After sealing their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a dramatic victory against Wolves last month, Coventry have lost three of their five matches since.
  • Mark Robins' side, though, will retain hope and belief that they can continue their remarkable cup run by progressing past a Manchester United side who have not won in four matches.
  • United did well to get a point at Bournemouth last weekend, having earned a draw at home to Liverpool the week before.
  • These two teams have not met in any competition since September 2007, in the third round of the League Cup. The Sky Blues were 2-0 winners at Old Trafford that day.

  • Ten Hag should not play Rashford and Wan Bissaka out of position in the final...

  • @koziol.mutant Best position for them is the bench, then out of the club in the summer.

  • @Byakuya Wan Bissaka is actually good RB, Rashford agree, should be sold or become politician

  • Too bad for Man UTD....not best match to watch. Players look extremely exhausted

  • Only United can bottle a 3-0 lead against a mid-table championship side, Onana got a card for time-wasting and they still let them equalize. Ten Hag doesn't know how to do subs properly and been saying this since day 1, everyone was defending him and telling things like "you have a proper coach finally but you blame Ten Hag just because you want to defend Ronaldo". Now look at it, how many leads United gave away just this season? Let the kids play after 3-0, you let players like Rashford roam around with no soul instead and that's naturally what you get. No one apart from Fernandes trying for this team in that attacking line, even Diallo showed more passion in 5 minutes.

  • @Byakuya You just said it was against a mid table championship side. How just subs can explain that collapse. To me it's the proof of a collective mental weakness and this goes a long for a decade now. Simplistic explanation maybe but more tangible

  • @G_Fauvana I'm talking about why United keep bottling the leads under Ten Hag, not talking about a decade.

  • MAN UTD Onana Dalot Casemiro Maguire Wan-Bissaka McTominay Mainoo Garnacho Fernandes (c) Rashford Hojlund

  • Man Utd will be way too strong for Coventry.

  • 1-2, former Man Utd hero is the coach of Covnetry, will be funny match to watch. Over 12,5 Coventry shots also looks nice.

  • 1-3 Man Utd

  • I'm not a fan of Ten Hag, but it's not even his fault anymore really. He had 4 available subs apart from the youngsters against Bournemouth, someone with little experience like Kambwala had to start already and fans should be thankful Mainoo turned out to be a great asset at such a young age. Top 4 is already gone and they shouldn't fight for UEL/UECL spot, they don't seem like they want to do anyway. Let it be the worst PL finish ever instead of being able to do nothing with a limited squad, with or without ETH. Try your best to finish this season with this cup and focus just on the title next year, play the cup games of next season with B team or academy players. This year was nothing but a waste, don't waste another. If you really want that rebuild, that's the only outcome. Liverpool will be rebuilding as well, Chelsea and Spurs are weak, City will be hit by those charges and Arsenal always unstable. Not a single stronghold, it has to be next year or might be not any soon again.

  • @Byakuya City will never face those charges. They are too big to punish. Some of their charges are going back nearly a decade. The FA has no problem dishing out charges to Everton and Forest - but somehow just can't put their finger on the 115 charges facing city! It's just good old fashioned corruption. A fair few FA members now have bank accounts in the middle east.....

  • @SlippinJimmy No club is too big, don't be deluded. They're big since when anyway, you could say too rich maybe. The charges have a long span and that's the whole saga already, a decade or two is not the problem. City lawyers proposed 2 years of delay to that case and asked for a further investigation in that time about if they're really guilty, that's why they haven't been touched so far. The final decision will be early 2025, mid-season and it will surely affect both current and incoming players not knowing about their future. Former chairman of PL said that even half of those charges would be more than enough to get them relegated, no one is expecting them to be hit by all 115 already because it would literally destroy the club. But it's also impossible for them to be cleared out of all of them, even small punishments will surely put a dent on their success.

  • @Byakuya I would bring Zidane in and rebuilt the team with him at helm. Ten Hag was clearly experimenting against Bournemouth, playimg players out of position, so they are just focusing on winning the cup and will get it.

  • @koziol.mutant He's not that clever, don't overthink. He has too many injured players, did you even check the available subs? I saw your comment about Kambwala there, would you rather start with Amrabat at CB who showed no top performance even in his position so far? Dalot is playing better at RB, he can also play as LB but he probably just wanted to make one side safe at least. AWB doesn't give trust anymore, no matter at RB or anywhere else. I will agree that Rashford should've been out instead of Garnacho, but he made a choice and had no more available sub for that position. He's literally waiting for a miracle on Rashford nowadays with playing him so he can gain his confidence and form back, it's really pathetic that a club like United have to rely on miracles. Zidane is never coming to this mess, I got tired of saying this.

  • United should win this one being at Wembley, and will be their 3rd appearance there in 15 months , possibly 4th if they reach the final.

  • @FF2021 This IS their 4th appearance in 15 months. 1) Newcastle, Feb 2023 / 2) Brighton, Apr 23 / 3) Man City, Jun 2023 / 4 Coventry, Apr 2024
