Team News

Dundee FC
Ross County
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made two changes from the Dee team that lost 2-0 to Hearts at Tynecastle, before they lost by a sole goal to Rangers at Ibrox upon their return to action in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
  • Trevor Carson replaced Jon McCracken in goal, behind an unchanged back three of Billy Koumetio, Antonio Portales and Ryan Astley. Jordan McGhee and Finlay Robertson remained at right wing-back and left wing-back respectively.
  • Mo Sylla, Lyall Cameron and Josh Mulligan remained in the middle of the park. Scott Tiffoney took Oluwaseun Adewumi's place to support Seb Palmer-Houlden in attack in the Dee's only outfield alteration for the trip to Glasgow on Saturday.
  • Ross County boss Don Cowie made three changes after the Staggies lost 3-1 in Edinburgh to Hibernian at Easter Road, before failing to make their numerical advantage count in a 2-1 defeat in Dingwall to St Mirren last Saturday afternoon.
  • Jack Hamilton continued between the sticks. Scott Allardice came into the Staggies' back three at Elijah Campbell's expense to join Kacper Lopata and Akil Wright. Connor Randall, Noah Chilvers and Josh Nisbet made up the midfield trio.
  • Goalscorer Michee Efete took the ill James Brown's place at right wing-back, with George Harmon continuing on the left hand side. Ronan Hale and Jordan White came into the County frontline, as Alex Samuel made way.

Prediction

  • Seventh meets eleventh, as Dundee and Ross County are separated by four points and four places in the Scottish Premiership standings before the two teams meet at Dens Park.
  • Dundee's long wait for a win at Ibrox continues, after a sole goal was enough for Rangers to see off the Dee and extend their unbeaten record against the Dark Blues in Glasgow since March 2001, but the hosts' season won't be defined by matches against the Gers. They have won half of their home league games so far this season, aiming to make it five victories in nine games here.
  • Ross County are the only Scottish Premiership team yet to win a league match away from home this season, having picked up just three points from a potential 24. The Staggies have netted twice on their travels, against both Edinburgh clubs, but did beat Dundee in Dingwall back in September. Another victory against the Dee could prove pivotal, as other festive fixtures take place.
  • Dundee will want revenge on Ross County, after they were defeated in Dingwall in the reverse fixture, so the travel-shy Staggies may succumb to the Dark Blues at Dens Park.
