Team News

Dundee FC
Hibernian
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made two changes from the Dee team that defeated Kilmarnock 3-2 at Dens Park, before they fell to a 4-1 loss to Aberdeen at Pittodrie before the international break.
  • Jon McCracken continued in goal behind the incoming Jordan McGhee (who replaced Ethan Ingram at right-back), Ryan Astley, Clark Robertson and Ziyad Larkeche in the back four.
  • Mo Sylla and Lyall Cameron remained in the middle of the park, where they were joined by Josh Mulligan as Antonio Portales made way for the Dee to change to a 4-3-3. Oluwaseun Adewumi and Seb Palmer-Houlden supported lone striker Simon Murray against the Dons.
  • Hibernian manager David Gray named two changes to the Hibs team that was held at home by Dundee United in a controversial 1-1 draw, before they lost 2-1 to Easter Road before the international break.
  • Josef Bursik continued in goal behind a back four of Chris Cadden (who replaced Lewis Miller), Marvin Ekpiteta, Warren O'Hora and Jordan Obita. Kwon Hyeok-Kyu, Nectarios Triantis and Joe Newell continued as Hibernian's three-man midfield.
  • Martin Boyle and Junior Hoilett supported Elie Youan, who was chosen as the Hibees' centre-forward in place of Mykola Kuharevich after his sending off against Dundee United, in attack.

Prediction

  • Four points separate seventh-placed Dundee and Hibernian, who are bottom of the Scottish Premiership pile, before this weekend's fixtures take place.
  • Dundee's dismal record against Aberdeen at Pittodrie continued before the break, as the Dee are without an away win against the Dons since winning 2-1 back in May 2004. The Dee have lost three of their last four league games, but could potentially leap into the top six with a victory - dependent on what happens in Paisley between St Mirren and Aberdeen earlier in the afternoon.
  • Hibernian's rotten recent record against St Mirren continued before the break, as the Hibees have lost four of their last five Scottish Premiership games against Saints and handed the Buddies their first league victory away from home. Bottom of the Premiership pile, the only way is up for Hibs who have given confidence to their young manager and will aim to start picking up points.
  • The two teams played out a four-goal thriller in Edinburgh back in August, but Dundee will hope to make their home advantage count against Hibs on Saturday evening.
