- St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson named just one change to the Saints eleven that was held at home by Ross County in a goalless draw, before their decent recent record at Easter Road continued with a 2-1 victory over Hibs in Edinburgh.
- Ellery Balcombe continued in goal behind Richard Taylor, Alex Gogic and Marcus Fraser in the Buddies' back three before the international break. Elvis Bwomono continued at right wing-back and Scott Tanser remained at left wing-back.
- Killian Phillips started alongside club captain Mark O'Hara in the middle of the park. The only alteration proved a masterstroke as Conor McMenamin, who bagged a brace against the Hibees, replaced James Scott to join Greg Kiltie in support of lone striker Toyosi Olusanya.
- Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin named two changes to the Dons team that was humbled at Hampden in the Scottish League Cup semi-final losing 6-0 to Celtic, before they bounced back with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Dundee at Pittodrie.
- Dimitar Mitov continued in goal behind the unchanged back four of Jack MacKenzie, Gavin Molloy, Slobodan Rubezic and Nicky Devlin. The ill Sivert Nilsen was replaced in midfield by Ante Palaversa to join club captain Graeme Shinnie.
- Duk and Topi Keskinen were in the wide areas, as they and Leighton Clarkson - who took Jamie McGrath's place - looked to provide the ammunition for lone striker Ester Sokler against the Dee before the international break.
