  • Can anyone explain to me why a good team such as Argentina keeps playing very cautiously even though opponents regularly play defensively against them? Slowing down the attack, playing possession based ballgame, shying away from shooting from a distance, and regularly starting their most creative and dangerous assist man, Angel Di Maria, on the bench, gives a golden opportunity for every opponent to stand a chance to cause a surprise. I guess Scaloni is a clueless piece of marionett figure much like Deschampe for France, who has no clue about attacking football. It's ridiculous what's happening in world football today in terms of coach selection.

  • @Zoltan BILLIONS OF PROFIT I GAMLIG INDUSTRY

  • @Zoltan what are talking about? Both teams were going for it the whole time. Possession was pretty much 50 / 50.

  • The Lionel Messi 'Panenka' penalty miss was funny :)

  • Argentina plays like a bunch of old boys - if Ecuador is brave and plays a fast paced game, they could win easily because they are much faster.

  • @Zoltan the ball is the fastest thing on the pitch. Argentina are not much slower than they were when the won the World Cup, beating France with the speed merchants they have. You know nothing, so just shut up.

  • When you have attacking talent at your disposal like Argentina, as a coach you must tailor make your game plan to exploit that attacking finesse. This moron called Scaloni cannot fathom what it would be like playing one touch football game with lots of long range shots and runs into empty areas within a high tempo game. He can only see the downside of this, when in fact the team with more finesse should have an advantage with such a game plan! That's what happens when you hire defenders or defensive midfielders as your coach. Personally, I would only hire forwards (Van Nistelroy was an awesome coach for PSV Eindhoven - Xavi Simmons became an excellent player under his tutelage and PSV won the dutch first league with a landslide) or attacking midfielders, in order to ensure attacking mindset for a team that can actually thrive on such a game plan.

  • @Zoltan the brand of football that you preach is simply outdated, as we become smarter we try to remove uncontrollable/unlikely events from our game plans. for one, u overestimate what great players can do against tight tactical cages, good pressing and 2v1 superiorities. due to these tactics players cant play freely like before. ranged shots have low xG, statistically they are less likely to go in. it is likely a lost possession, this is why coaches prefer a more sure way of scoring, after passing around a bit. even world champions dont score from range much unless its a center position, so they get countered. the reason scaloni, pep, carlo are scared of being countered is not cuz the defenders are bad, its because numbers on the transition are key and it makes the players run back and lose stamina. why do you think you call every single ucl winner these days trash and defensive? because the key to winning is focusing on the right thing and that is defense and then scoring incisively.

  • Argentina have won 12 of their last 15 matches. They have also scored 1 or more goals in 19 of their last 20 matches.

  • Looks like Ecuador were unlucky. Why is there a missed penalty showing for Argentina at the start of normal time?

  • Messi +125 / Martinez +175 To Score Anytime

  • Ecuador will qualify for the next round

  • @Ortega_10 If they are smart and brave, it can happen! Scaloni is a terrible coach despite of the stats!

  • @Ortega_10 Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • The moronic 90-minutes then penalties format that they use in Copa America may give Ecuador a small chance of going to penalties. Still Argentina has the psycho Dibu who provokes his opponents during the penalty shoot out. Ecuador has had trouble scoring goals this far. Only a varpenalty a lucky cross that wasn't even meant as a shot, and two regular goals in open play. Argentina hasn't scored more but they create so much more goal opportunities. They look far more dangerous.

  • argentina too strong for any sort of surprise here

  • @Icarax Argentina was so "strong" that they have been outplayed by Ecuador in the first half and have only been able to find a goal from a set piece. The biggest liability of the Argentines by far is their clueless coach Scaloni: if Ecuador would have been more collected, they should have won clearly the first half. But then again, Ecuador also has a loser coach at their helm, that Spaniard is completely clueless as well!

  • Argentina 2-0

  • @Marbella Don't even dream about it! Argentina will sit back to protect its stupid found goal LOL. These games are not for the fans any more, but to screw betting up. That's why you see so many morons as coaches. Van Nistelroy, who was an awesome coach for PSV, disappeared, just as Spalletti from the helm of Napoli. Good coaches are not welcome any more, because the owners of the teams are part of the betting maffia.
