Tottenham have announced Eric Dier has signed a new five-year deal keeping him at the club until 2021.
Dier, 23, has established himself as an important player under Mauricio Pochettino in the last two years and his performances have now cemented his place in the England set up.
The 22-year-old has now been rewarded by his club taking home a reported £70,000-a-week, which puts him among the club best paid players.
“There are many reasons I wanted to commit my future to Tottenham,” Dier told the club’s official website. “We have a fantastic squad full of young, exciting players. We’ve got the new stadium on its way, the fantastic facilities at the training ground, and a fantastic manager who’s great for all us young players.
“He really looks after us, and makes sure we keep improving. Wembley being filled with 80,000 or more Tottenham fans is going to be an amazing experience. Playing in the Champions League there is very unique, so those two things are going to be fantastic.”
Since the start of last season no player has picked up more yellow cards than Dier (11).
