  • Nice, Arsenal getting a chance to close in. Gotta be taking those if they want to close an 8 point gap.

  • Nunez is pants....so bad, he would not get in United team.

  • Why Darwin still? He always makes mistakes, but always. Unable to score a goal without a goalkeeper.

  • I don't want to even begin to think about where we'll be next season if Salah goes...

  • Nunez missing that chance is criminal. Being out of form is one thing, but that’s just him not being good enough for this level

  • @sarigginsUSA He's a Cavani 2.0. Can only score if you give him 5 chances. No wonder Slot often prefers to play Diaz or Jota as a center forward.

  • Aston Villa double chance

  • Salah TSA +120

  • VILLA Martinez, Garcia, Mings, Disasi, Digne, McGinn, Tielemans, Asensio, Rashford, Rogers, Watkins.

  • @Marbella SUBS Maatsen, Bogarde, Cash, Ramsey, Malen, Jimoh, Olsen, Zych

  • LIVERPOOL Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Konate, Robertson, Gravenberch, Szobozlai, Mac Allister, Jones, Salah, Jota.

  • @Marbella SUBS Quansah, Bradley, Endo, Elliott, Nunez, Chiesa, Diaz, Tsimikas, Kelleher

  • Based on the extra short, 2 day turnaround time for Liverpool versus 3 day turnaround time for Aston Villa, my instinct says Double Chance for Aston Villa. Liverpool will lose points here: the only question is, whether it will lose all 3 points or just 2 points. Wouldn't be too risky in my opinion to bet even on a Liverpool loss!

  • I think lots of goals here. Could easily say 1-2 as fulltime result but it could easily end 3-5. etc etc Can Villa cause a shock? Perhaps but unlikely imho.

  • I buy BTTS & Over 2.5

  • Over 3.5 @2,40

  • Rashford needs a goal to get his confidence back.I think he will have a good game tonight.

  • both teams to score in both halves

  • I smell a draw , 1-1/2-2

  • draw

  • Unfortunately, thats going to be a point loss for Liverpool

  • BTTS. Liverpool haven't been able to keep a clean sheet in their the last 7 visits to Villa Park. Furthermore, Liverpool have at times shaky defensively (e.g. second half vs. Wolves) in their two previous Premier League. Aston Villa have scored in their last 10 home games in all competitions

  • @Football666 Correction: BTTS. Liverpool haven't been able to keep a clean sheet in their the last 7 visits to Villa Park. Furthermore, Liverpool have at times looked shaky defensively (e.g. second half vs. Wolves) in their two previous Premier League games. Aston Villa have scored in their last 10 home games in all competitions

  • @Football666 ...not to mention that Ollie Watkins is one of the most consistent forwards in the league, especially in home games!

  • @Zoltan Yes, also a very good point.

  • @Football666 My only concern is that Liverpool is purposefully made to play his next game with a 2 day rest versus the 3 day rest available to Aston Villa. We both know when that happens, we can not only expect Liverpool to lose (1 extra rest day is an enormous competitive advantage in case of such tight turnaround times), but also we might see some very shitty game from the Liverpool forwards with extremely low hitting the goal vs. shooting the goal ratio. They (the fckn' organisers together with the owners) do this so that they can make betting risky for us. Thus, they actually bet against their own teams, which almost always translates to the winning of the team with more rest days, but not necessarily the win of the best team. What do you think? Isn't it 2 day turnaround time too much for Salah and company? I think it is. I have seen many games in which the most these tired teams could churn out is a draw. But I am a bit weary here that Aston Villa might win w/o Liverpool scoring.

  • @Zoltan I agree. Can't blame them if they are tired, honestly. Tough schedule this season. Seeing as the game is going so far, they are in a real risk of dropping points today, but we'll see. On to the second half, mate.

  • @Football666 Congrats mate, you were right! But I was right as well, because if the keepers would have done their jobs as keepers in the Premier League normally do, Liverpool would have been goalless in this game (Liverpool shots/on target ratio was 17/3 !!!), and if we consider that Aston Villa's shots/on target ratio was only slightly better (9/4), even a 0-0 wouldn't have been surprising. I just simply don't have the stamina not to take seriously these turnaround time warnings: especially in leagues such as the Premier League, with so many outstanding goalkeepers, tight turnaround times can easily be translated into super low scoring games such as 0-0 or 1-0.

  • @Zoltan Thanks mate, and congrats to you as well. Yes, you were completely right, too. I agree completely. Let me hear your thoughts about Liverpool's next game against Manchester City on Sunday (either here or in the comment section for that particular game - thanks!).
