Team News

Leicester
Brentford
  • Ruud van Nistelrooy may make one change to the side that started the eventual 2-0 loss to Arsenal last week with Woyo Coulibaly in line to deputise for James Justin after the full-back was forced off in the first half of the defeat to the Gunners.
  • Abdul Fatawu and Ricardo Pereira both miss out for the Foxes, with the duo long-term absentees.
  • Van Nistelrooy may continue with a similar looking XI to the one that started the aforementioned meeting with Arsenal, though Stephy Mavididi is pushing for a start having replaced Jordan Ayew in the second half.
  • Sepp van den Berg was forced off after an hour in Brentford's 1-0 win at West Ham last weekend owing to a knee injury, and is expected to be replaced by Ethan Pinnock in the starting XI.
  • That may be the only change Thomas Frank makes for Friday's trip to Leicester, with January arrival Michael Kayode unlikely to oust Kristoffer Ajer at right-back.
  • Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry, Aaron Hickey, Igor Thiago and Gustavo Nunes miss out for the Bees.

Prediction

  • Leicester were on course for a commendable point against Arsenal last week, but came unstuck late on as they eventually fell to a 2-0 loss to the Gunners. The Foxes have now lost nine of their last 10 league matches, and have lost their last five in front of their own fans.
  • Brentford made it two victories from their last three with a 1-0 triumph at West Ham last weekend to secure a second successive away London derby win. While the Bees couldn't buy an away win at the start of the season, Thomas Frank's side have claimed all the spoils in their last three on the road.
  • Leicester haven't scored a home league goal since their 2-2 draw with Brighton in December, and that run may continue on Friday night with a narrow Brentford victory on the cards.

  • van Nistelrooy should never have been appointed by Leicester. They only did so because of media fanfare at the time about how he had “done well” as United’s interim boss. Cooper at least would have squeezed another 3-5 points from where they are right now.
