Team News

WBA
Stoke
  • Josh Maja is facing a few weeks on the sidelines with a lower leg injury, so Karlan Grant could push forward to lead the line.
  • That move may create room for John Swift to start in an attacking midfield role.
  • Tom Cannon has been recalled by Leicester, so Nathan Lowe could start up top after returning from League Two leaders Walsall.
  • Sam Gallagher is facing another spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring issue.

Prediction

  • West Brom were denied an impressive away win against Swansea in stoppage time two weeks ago after Myles Peart-Harris equalised in the 91st minute. The managerless Baggies were hammered 5-1 by Bournemouth in the FA Cup last time out, and they sit one point outside of the playoffs in the league.
  • Mark Robins was left frustrated when Stoke faced Plymouth in their last league outing. The Potters restricted their visitors to two shots, but couldn't break the deadlock in 90 minutes. An extra-time FA Cup win against promotion-chasing Sunderland will boost confidence ahead of the trip to the Hawthorns on Saturday.

  • A bore draw as both goalscorers are not featuring today?

  • Difficult to Predict this one. Stoke's joint-best player, Striker Tom Cannon, has returned to Leicester and his replacement, Nathan Lowe, hasn't proved he can make the jump up from League 2. I think I'll advise Under 2.5 Goals but I will bet on Stoke. They really are something of a Sleeping Giant which I feel is going to be awoken sooner or later by Mark Robins.

  • @RichieRochdale You won, I lost but at least Nathan Lowe scored on his return to Stoke City! :)
