Team News

Hibernian
Motherwell
  • Hibernian manager David Gray named a sole change to the Hibs team after they drew 1-1 with St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park, before a crazy 3-3 thriller against Rangers at Easter Road where Hibs fought back from two goals down.
  • Goalkeeper Jordan Smith kept his place between the sticks. Jack Iredale, Rocky Bushiri and Lewis Miller made up the Hibees' backline again. Chris Cadden remained at right wing-back, as his brother Nicky was on the left flank.
  • Nectarios Traintis was chosen in midfield once again, joined by Kwon Hyeok-Kyu with club captain Joe Newell injured. Josh Campbell supported Dwight Gayle and Martin Boyle, who bagged a brace, in attack against Rangers on Sunday.
  • Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell named one change to the Steelmen side that beat Aberdeen 2-0 at Fir Park, before a goalless draw in their midweek match against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday night.
  • Aston Oxborough remained in goal behind Kofi Balmer, Dan Casey and Liam Gordon in the back three. Marvin Kaleta was chosen at right-wing back again, with Ewan Wilson continuing on the left-hand side.
  • Davor Zdravkovski and Andy Halliday continued in midfield. Tawanda Maswanhise supported Tony Watt and Jack Vale, who started at Moses Eibye's expense, in the Well attack against Killie.

Prediction

  • Seventh meets fifth, as Hibernian host Motherwell at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon with both teams beating one another at each other's ground in the Scottish Premiership this season.
  • Hibernian's recent resurgence appeared to begin at Fir Park, as they blew Motherwell away 3-0 at Fir Park in their last league meeting. That win over the Well was the first of five victories in six Scottish Premiership games before back-to-back draws. Hibs will want to get back to winning ways against the Steelmen on Saturday, but did lose to Motherwell 2-1 at Easter Road in October.
  • Motherwell have only suffered one defeat in their last eight league meetings with Kilmarnock, but left Ayrshire with a point after a disappointing goalless draw against Killie in midweek. The Steelmen have only kept one clean sheet in their last 12 league meetings with Hibs, winning just three of their previous 14 league trips to Easter Road in February 2021, April 2023 and October.
  • Motherwell have kept back-to-back clean sheets since losing in Edinburgh last midweek, but Hibernian will hope to sneak into the top six if they can win against the Well this weekend.
