Team News

Dundee FC
Aberdeen
  • Dundee manager Tony Docherty made six changes from the Dee's second consecutive 6-0 Scottish Premiership defeat away to Celtic, before they bounced back with a 4-0 victory over Airdrieonians in the Scottish Cup last Saturday.
  • Jon McCracken replaced Trevor Carson in goal, behind Aaron Donnelly and Antonio Portales who were joined in the Dee defence by Clark Robertson as opposed to Ryan Astley. Ziyad Larkeche replaced Ethan Ingram at left wing-back.
  • Josh Mulligan kept his place on the right hand side, as Jordan McGhee and Lyall Cameron replaced Mo Sylla and Cesar Garza in midfield. Scott Tiffoney replaced Fin Robertson to support Simon Murray and Oluwaseun Adewumi in attack.
  • Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin named four changes to the Dons' 2-0 defeat to Hibernian at Easter Road in their last league match, before they bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
  • Ross Doohan continued in goal as Jack MacKenzie and debutant Mats Knoester entered the Dons defence to join Alexander Jensen and Kristers Tobers at Alfie Dorrington and Nicky Devlin's expense. Graeme Shinnie made way in midfield.
  • Sivert Nilsen joined Ante Palaversa in front of the back four, as Leighton Clarkson made way for another attacker. Topi Keskinen and Jeppe Okkels were chosen on the flanks to support Pape Guèye and the incoming Kevin Nisbet up front.

Prediction

  • Both Dundee and Aberdeen safely secured their passage into the Scottish Cup quarter-finals after routine victory over Scottish Championship opposition last time out.
  • The Dee slotted four first half goals past Airdrieonians at Dens Park, as they will take on Heart of Midlothian at Tynecastle in the last eight of Scotland's premier cup competition. Considering Dundee had conceded 12 goals in just two league matches, the first of which came against the Jambos, their weekend win was the perfect professional response to keep their cup dream alive.
  • Aberdeen have found wins hard to come by in the Scottish Premiership, but avoided slipping on a potential banana skin as they saw off Dunfermline Athletic at Pittodrie in the round of 16. Next up in the Scottish Cup is another home tie against Championship opposition, giant-killing Queen's Park, but the Dons will want points on the board before taking on the Spiders in the last eight.
  • Aberdeen have won both league meetings between the two teams this season but, despite both sides' inconsistencies, Dundee have been decent at Dens recently (except the Hearts horror show) and could make home advantage count.
