- Christian Eichner will have a new number-one goalkeeper this season, although it remains to be seen whether that will be Max Weiss or summer signing Robin Himmelmann.
- New addition Lasse Guenther will start at left-back on Saturday in what will be a relatively familiar Karlsruher starting line-up, prepared in Eichner's trusted 4-3-1-2 formation.
- Miroslav Klose has been working on a 4-1-4-1 system over the summer with plenty of new names for the Nürnberg supporters to get excited about.
- Expect debuts for five summer additions on Saturday with the likes of Robin Knoche, Florian Pick and Caspar Jander all in line for starts at BBBank Wildpark.
