I don't think anybody is happy about this new Champions League format. The clubs added belong in the Europa league, maybe they should have expanded the Europe instead and combined it with that other 3rd tier competition that nobody cares about.

@LM10GOAT Against Newcastle, they wanted to play. Against Real Madrid they gave up even before stepping on the grass! That's how modern, overpaid football works! What would be ethical is to forfeit the game, lose it 3-0 without traveling and saving a lot of money. But of course they still want to pocket the tv-rights so they show up, but without wanting to play. It's disgusting!

@Zoltan City is just not good, you need to face the truth. Perhaps they are still winning some games because of the opponent that thinks they are playing City of last year. It's that simple and the players aren't all that. What surprised me today is Pep not playing his best forward which is strange. Marmoush was lucky against Newcastle why making the drastic change ?
@EmilHas Because City was playing the game of the season, being 1 goal down from the first leg, and because drastic would mean that he would play both Haaland and Marmoush up front, against a tough team like Real Madrid. Instead, he opted for laying down with only 1 goal disadvantage, which is criminal for such an expensive team like City. That's why he did not play Haaland and say Doku instead of Bernardo Silva, and pushing Gundogan further up field where he can give assists. That would have been the winning mindset, but Guardiola is both bold and not bold enough at the same time. You rather stay surprised. I, on the other hand, know that all this is intentional - nothing is by chance in here, just as in the Dortmund - Sporting game it was an intentional 0-0, in which the Sporting coach also gave up, which was singled by an uninjured Gyökeres not even traveling with the team!

@Marbella It's amazing how many "frauds" are in today's football! Just look at today's Dortmund - Sporting game: when I saw the official lineup AND the bench without Gyökeres and I couldn't find any injury news on him, I immediately knew that Sporting gave up on this game against Dortmund. Then, knowing what a "fraud" Nico Kovac is as a coach, I immediately knew it will be a low scoring game, possibly even 0-0. It is disgusting how disrespectful all these overpaid coaches and players are towards the fans! If I would be in the stands, I probably could not control my anger! That's why I never go to football games.

This game would be enjoyable without these garbage Italian and Spanis coaches who don't have the guts to play offensively against one another to see who can score more goals. You can shower them with the best, most expensive players from every corner of the world, these stupid coaches would still play defensively, focused on ball possession even though the fans would deep down expect goals. Now I don't address these lines to all those id.ots who live in self-denial and would claim that they definitely don't want to see goals. Rather, they attend or watch a game in order to celebrate a win or qualification. These people have no understanding of the joy football has to offer. That joy has nothing to do with catenaccio, ball possession, or managing the game. It has everything to do with scoring goals, making great dribbles, and yes, at times making great defensive moves as well, but ONLY as part of a fast paced, counterattack inspired, brave approach to football, not this static coward BS
