Team News

Liverpool
PSG
  • Liverpool came from behind to reinforce their title credentials against Southampton at the weekend, a match in which the Reds came through unscathed.
  • Cody Gakpo is yet to return from an ankle injury, and it remains to be seen whether he'll feature on Tuesday against PSG.
  • Conor Bradley, Tyler Morton and Joe Gomez all sit out this Champions League tie.
  • Arne Slot may go with the same XI that started the first leg win in Paris, though Harvey Elliott will hope his winning goal in Paris is enough to secure a spot in the team.
  • PSG have no injury or suspension concerns for this second leg meeting with Liverpool.
  • Luis Enrique rotated his side for the 4-1 win over Rennes at the weekend, with Goncalo Ramos, Lee Kang-In, Desire Doue and Warren Zaire-Emery all starting the comfortable victory.
  • Enrique may go with the same XI that started the first leg, a match in which they were unfortunate to lose.

Prediction

  • Liverpool had Alisson to thank for their 1-0 win in Paris last week as the Brazilian put in an inspired display to help the Reds claim a first leg advantage. Arne Slot's side return to Anfield, and they should be confident about securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League given their home record this season.
  • PSG quickly bounced back from their first leg loss to secure a comfortable 4-1 win over Rennes with a much-changed side as the French side showcased their strength in depth. The Ligue 1 side won't be overwhelmed by the Anfield atmosphere as they head to Merseyside on a 13-game away winning run.
  • If Alisson puts in another inspired display this week, then Liverpool will book a place in the next round of the Champions League. Even so, PSG should have the firepower to get the better of the Brazilian, but it may not be enough to secure their quarter-final spot.

  • Great match. Not a huge fan of xG, but when it's LFC 1.98 - 5.33 PSG on aggregate you can't say they didn't deserve it.

  • That was a brilliant performance from the PSG team. They really deserved to advance. Good luck PSG. You didn't really need Mbappe.

  • deserved win PSG

  • never thought i would support PSG, since im Madrid fan, but this team is absolutly amazing. Vitinha looks like young Modric. Very possible CL winner this year

  • @CragHack Eh, calling them anything but an underdog for the final win is a stretch, they yet to perform consistently. But I agree that they are by far the most likable iteration of PSG in years.

  • They say Salah is going to Saudi Arabi but I think Darwin will get there first. Maybe they should have gotten a real center forward in January.

  • I don't get this talk about how Slot improved this side. They're worse than they were in most years under Klopp. Just had a few key players on fire and other teams dropping off. That's all it was.

  • @Tam27 No, they're actually better, but they still suck. Slot > Flopp for sure

  • @Sputnik Leading the league with 15 points does suck.. It's so lonely at the top..

  • @Tam27 That's next level hater mentality

  • 0-1 final score

  • psg double chance

  • PSG keeps missing easy chances unbelievable !

  • Salah vs Mendes will be fascinating to watch. Salah was at his worst I have ever seen him in the last game, Mendes had him in his pocket.

  • 1:2, extra time

  • 4.5 goals over for me, good luck to everyone

  • Over-rated loserpool were gonna win the CL, eh? _)_

  • @Sputnik Just like City will win it right??

  • Donna the monster

  • Mendes is playing flawlessly again, but even when he is not there Salah just can't get it right today once more. Not watching Pool in EPL much this year, so not sure if it's just a bad spell, but there is a huge contrast between his best and what he has been showing vs PSG both games so far. Maybe it's not that bad of an idea for the club to let him go if they get a decent summ out of it before he really declines he is 32 after all.

  • @DanInter He's usually a lot more willing to take on the 1v1s. I see him better today than at Paris in that even when he can't win the 1v1 he is smart enough to play a good dangerous ball to his teammates instead of giving up and going backwards - but they're not making good use of themselves. Liverpool should have found the net already but Jota is useless today and the ball is finding his feet more than it should.

  • Paris win 2:1

  • I agree with Luis Enrique - whoever progresses will make it to the final, and probably win. For my club’s and football’s sake, I hope it’s not PSG

  • @sarigginsUSA SUCK IT, LOSER!

  • Liverpool to qualify

  • @lovefootball Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @Sputnik Which team are you going to support next season after it wins the league, since you aren't a Man City or Leverkusen guy??

  • over 1.5 first half goals

  • @FF2021 you dont have other thing to say other than this phrase you type every match??!!

  • Under 1.5 1H WINNER! BTTS No pending WINNER! Salah OVERRATED!

  • @Oversonly Scoring 27 goals with 11 assists is overrated now?? Haters in mommy's boyfriend's basement are becoming ridiculous

  • Vitinha and João Neves are probably the best midfield duo of the season.

  • @hellreaper You're forgetting Fabian Ruiz, it's a trio.

  • Salah +150 / Dembele +195 TSA

  • Ov3.5 goals

  • BTTS

  • There have been over 1.5 goals in 13 consecutive Liverpool home European games.

  • @Marbella Love these trends. They always lose.

  • @Oversonly I agree! Plus, today you could also tell that they will lose: when both teams have only 2 days rest between consecutive games, they simply cannot score - it's like they are cursed. That's what happened here as well: both teams worked hard, they even managed to create countless goal situations, but the accuracy always depends on the kind of physical and mental strength that a team with 2 days rest simply can NOT have. Goalkeepers, on the other hand, are not affected by the number of days elapsed between consecutive games so these games tend to be very low scoring (over 95% probability)

  • I think both teams will play safely the 1st half. Both teams have fantastic record, Liverpool only lost once at Anfield this season to Nottingham Forest in EPL, and PSG who won a lot of games in a row away this season (In CL they only lost to Bayern 1-0 away and Arsenal 2-0 away). Liverpool double chance / win. I think that Anfield magic will play a big role as usual. And second leg will not be the same as first one. PSG had their chance in Paris, right now i think they will be eliminated. Liverpool double chance / win. Correct score prediction: 2-1 to Liverpool.

  • @InArtetaWeTrust There is no such thing as "Anfield magic".

  • @Sputnik sure there is nothing like anfield here, PSG win

  • @Betnice Anfield is Liverpool's home stadium.. Know your soccer please..

  • @Sputnik yeah, that aged well) PSG impressed me yesterday, well played

  • @Sputnik In case you live under a rock, Liverpool doesn't lose at home.. Just ask teams stronger than PSG, like Leverkusen and Real

  • @Kingjigga Tell me more, African expert! Also, let's ask Nottingham Forest about that.

  • @Sputnik That's not the only game they played at home Mr European, right??

  • Sorry, Liverpool double chance (better odds)

  • @lovefootball Erm, no.

  • บุกยับแน่ ปารีสเข้ารอบ ร้องปารีส 0.5 / ปารีสชนะ 1 -0 ต่อเวลาพิเศษ วัดกันจุดโทษแต่เราได้เงิน

  • @qqaa303408 Can you type in English ? Just so people can understand what you are saying.

  • @Marbella exactly my point
